Mowrystown FFA has another successful day of giving

December 20, 2023

Day of Giving is where we make all sorts of things in different classrooms throughout the day for different organizations where we give back to the community. Mowrystown FFA had another successful year with our annual day of giving. All kinds of things were made including dog toys, blankets, food boxes, etc. Everyone in the school participated in making this year a success, including all the business that sponsored us, which we are very thankful for.

Mowrystown FFA Middle School CDE

December 7, 2023 

Congratulations to the IMPACT OF AGRICULTURE Team for placing 3rd in the State Contest last week. They had to write a research paper and give an illustrated talk about how Agriculture impacts Society. Team members were Jillian Lucas, Gabriella Crowe, Tessa Potts, Oakley Engle.
Congratulations to Hayden Stratton for placing 6th in the Career Conversations CDE.
Rowan Roades placed 7th and Jada Combs placed 9th in the Career Speech Contest.
The Careers Quiz Bowl Team of Jenna Canada, Grady Roberts, Carson Hart, and Christopher Wessner placed 16th.

Mowrystown FFA takes on leadership night

November 29, 2023

Mowrystown FFA attended the Ohio FFA Leadership night. Members had the opportunity to talk to college and industry reps and take part in leadership workshops presented by the Ohio FFA officers. Over 500 FFA members from around district 9 were in attendance. Thank you to Miami Trace/Great Oaks FFA for sponsoring the event and feeding everyone.

Mowrystown FFA gets recognition for their 3 star gold rated chapter.

November 2, 2023

As Mowrsytown went to the national convention they were recognized for being a 3 star gold rated chapter. Representing Mowrystown was Addison Roberts and Lydia Carr. 
HS Soils

District Soils for High School

October 4, 2023

Mowrystown FFA competed at the District contest at Wilmington college for Ag and urban soils. They had a lot of success placing 7th with both of their high school teams.

District soils for Jr High

October 4, 2023

Mowrystown FFA competed in the AG and urban soils district contest at Wilmington College. They had a lot of success, placing 2nd overall with their Jr. High team.
Dairy

Highland County Dairy Cows

September 9, 2023

Sydney Shelton from Mowrystown FFA she had a phenomenal year at the Highland County fair with her dairy cows. She placed with her outstanding record book, skill-a-thon, Third Overall Senior Judging Team. 1st, 2nd and 3rd in class. Dairy Champion Jersey, Intermediate Showman, and ended up being reserve showman overall. 
Cattle

Highland County Fair Cattle

September 9, 2023

Mowrystown FFA had a wonderful year at the highland county fair in Cattle. Pictured above is Oakley Engle she was reserve overall in the open show and got 3rd overall in the breeding jr. show and won reserve overall in the market show. Last, but not least, got 4th in showman of showman. 
Also placing for the chapter consisted of Ashton Simpson placing 3rd in showmanship and 5th overall in the market show, Charlie Hauke with 4th Place in Showmanship and 5th place in Breeding Show. Addy Hauke placed 5th in showmanship, 3 in County, Born and Bred and 5th in open show. Sawyer Blair placed 4th in class with his feeder steer. Lastly is Beef-Champion 14-year-old showman Sydney Shelton, outstanding record book, skill-a-thon, third Overall Senior Judging Team and 1st, 2nd and 3rd in class.
Adrionna

Mowrystown FFA at the highland county fair with Market goats.

September 9, 2023

There were multiple people that participated at the highland county fair with their goats and ended up with a lot of success. Pictured above is Adrionna Phillips placing reserve overall showman, Grand Champion Market weather, Fifth overall market weather and Grand Champion breeding doe. Others that participated was Destiney Kipp placing fourth in goat showmanship. Two class winners in the market goat show, and third overall middle weight market goat. Also, winning skili-a-thon in goats, and lastly OME in goats. Emma Helterbrand placed 3rd in both of her classes and for showmanship got third in her class.

Mowrystown FFA takes on WLC

July 12, 2023 

The three kids from Mowrystown FFA which included of Kelsey Monteith, Austin Richards, and Tyler Wessner decided to go on a trip to the WLC (Washington Leadership Conference). To improve their leadership and communication skills.
